Hoyt Family Reunion Day 1

Last weekend we had our first Hoyt family reunion with my parents and siblings/ spouses and nieces and nephews. My parents rented a fabulous cabin on Cedar mountain and we all congregated for 3 days of non-stop fun and excitement. Once I realized this handsome guy was going to be stuck with me in a cabin in the woods without internet, Playstation, or the gym, I decided this was going to be really awesome! He did have his camera though and spent most of his time shooting all our relatives. That's why I have so many pictures to go through to find the ones that best describe our weekend. So I plan on doing several blog posts about our adventures.
My mom has been very excited (and maybe a wee bit stressed?) about this reunion.  She wanted our first one to be perfect.  She even bought us all t-shirts which we decorated the second day.
It rained quite a lot while we were there, but that was a good thing. It has been so dry that there have been tons of fires in Utah. In fact, the Shingle fire was only a few miles from the cabin we rented, so for awhile we weren't sure if we were going to get to have our reunion.

The kids didn't seem to mind since they got to watch a movie because we couldn't go out in the rain.

Later that day though we were able to go hiking to Cascade Falls and my brothers got out there bows for a little target shooting.
Other than the hike though we pretty much stayed in the cabin most of the day.  Tyson and Drake enjoyed a little relaxation.
A loved this picture of some of the cousins hanging out on the big deck outside.

These are two of my sisters, Sara and Anna.  My sister Heide and her family weren't able to come out from Florida.  We missed them!
My dad grilled us up some yummy burgers and hot dogs for dinner.
We also had a family activity that night.  I was in charge of a treasure hunt and then we all gathered together so my dad could tell us stories about my Grandpa Dill, who passed away when I was 12.
Finally we were able to get the kids to bed.  We were assigned the downstairs family room because it had enough beds for our family.  Family Sleep Over Time! Also, Garrett snores like a son of a gun!
It was a good first day of the reunion.  Day 2 coming up tomorrow!
