Lexi Turns 12!

On Sunday our cute little Lexi Girl turned 12! It's certainly hard to believe that is even possible! On Saturday she went with her dad on a little Daddy Daughter Date. They went to see the movie Guardians of the Galaxy, shopped for items to eat for her birthday Nacho Bar dinner, and went out to get ice cream. I took her out shopping to buy some nice volleyball shoes, which was part of her present. Then on Sunday she opened her presents and we had cake and ice cream. I tried very hard to make a beautiful volleyball cake. It didn't turn out quite like I would have liked because my kitchen was too hot and the icing kept melting down the sides which was driving me crazy! But she thought it was amazing and it did taste pretty marvelous!

I love how she tried to pretend like her volleyball shoes were a complete surprise. What a silly girl!

We had told her she could start wearing makeup when she was 12, a decision we later wanted to retract, but it was too late already! So for her main present she got a Caboodle with plenty of makeup items, a good razor and shaving cream, lotion, nail polish, and a turbie twist towel for her wet hair (if you don't have one of those you need to get one ASAP!)

She also got some fun presents from her grandparents. Grandma Susan took her shopping while she was visiting them this summer and bought her 3 shirts.  Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Gerry gave her money which she chose to use to buy her volleyball warm ups. It's a very cute jacket and pants set that she really wanted.  Happy Birthday to our awesome, smart, beautiful, talented and kind Lexi Shea!
