International Days

Here in Price they don't celebrate Pioneer Days (July 24th) like they do in the rest of Utah because Price was settled by miners not Mormon pioneers. We had a fun time celebrating International Days last weekend even though there had been rumors going around that someone was planning to do something violent. The police kept saying they had investigated and there was no legitimacy to the claims but it still makes you just a wee bit nervous. Luckily the rumors were just that...only rumors. We were able to go to several of the events and have a really good time. I took the kids to the free kids activities on Friday morning. They climbed the rock wall, got snow cones, played on the inflatable bouncers, did the fish pond, made crafts, toured the fire truck, and played carnival type games.

On Saturday morning we went to the parade. The boys had been asked to be on the Price Youth Soccer float. Zac and Garrett wanted to but Drake wanted to sit on the curb and gather up candy. He was pretty sure we wouldn't get enough if he didn't do his part. Luckily we were early enough in the parade that we got tons of candy (it was an exceptionally long parade. Over an hour!) and by the time the soccer float came by Drake was willing to run and jump on. This was the first time any of the boys had been in a parade so they were pretty excited.

Later that night we went to the movie in the park. We watched Man of Steel on the inflatable screen. We didn't get home until 11:30 and the kids actually slept in the next morning until almost 9:00. Crazy!
