Brighton Lakes Hike

Once Upon a Time....(a few weeks ago) Grandma and Grandpa Bear took the four little bears for a few days so Mama and Papa could have  a little break to spend time with just each other and recharge the ol' parenting batteries. Mama and Papa decided to go for a nice 5 mile hike in Big Cottonwood Canyon to check out the Brighton Lakes Trail. It was a beautiful day...not too hot, not too cold, but just right! Papa Bear took his great big camera, Mama Bear took her middle sized camera....and they left all the baby bears and little cameras at Grandmas. (Who am I kidding? This family doesn't own any little cameras!)

Mama and Papa Bear hiked around Silver Lake. It was not too big, not too little, but just right. It even had a nice walkway to keep you from sinking into the marsh. They were hoping to see a moose because they are rumored to hang out around here. Unfortunately, there wasn't a moose in sight.

So then they decided to hike up to Lake Mary which is another place where moose come to visit. It was a beautiful lake but still no moose (or meese....or whatever!) There were some cute little chipmunks who came when Papa Bear called to them though.

Then the Bear parents continued their hike past Lake Martha (which was not too impressive, not too pathetic, but kind of little) and on to Lake Katherine where they ate Subway sandwiches that were not too stale, not too soggy but tasted just right...even after Mama Bear dumped hers in the dirt.

It was a beautiful day for exploring nature.  There was plenty of wildlife (though no moose) and beautiful wildflowers and fantastic views. It was just what Mama and Papa Bear needed and they slept very well in their great big bed that night which was not too soft, not too hard, but just right!

THE END
