We had a dance one night and brought back some oldies like the Macarena. The kids loved dancing around with glow sticks. We also had a cake walk which was all fun and games until there was a scramble to get on the correct number and somehow Garrett ended up sitting on Roxee's head and Gavin's cupcake got smooshed into the carpet! We also did a white elephant gift exchange with gifts that remind us of Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Gerry. We brought a bottle full of "parking lot pennies" because my mom can't resist picking up change she finds on the ground. We ended up going home with a "grandpa hat" and a bottle of coke, and a package of peanuts (my dad likes to actually pour peanuts into his Coke and then drink it. I think it's gross but he seems to like it!) Tyson, of course, took almost a thousand pictures of our festivities and I've selected just a few to post on the blog. I did decide to break it up into two posts though, mostly to save my own sanity!
Sara and Stetson were in charge of Minute to Win It games. They had
some creative ideas including using a straw to pick up skittles and put
them in a cup and bouncing balls out of a kleenex box tied around your waist.
The kids liked decorating their cupholders and came up with some pretty clever designs.
We all had plenty of time to cuddle with Jason and Ashley's baby, Houston. He really liked Tyson's facial hair! Zac really liked Houston too and it was fun to see him play with a baby.
The kids were all really enjoying the Lincoln Logs too....especially once Uncle Bucky taught them how to catapult them up into the air. I'm not sure that was a great idea but they sure did enjoy it!
We each got a special lime green reunion shirt. Tyson makes a great back model if I do say so myself!
There were also lots of games of Scum and other board games going on throughout the day. Not to mention, Grandma Debbie running an impromtu acting class in the basement with such classics as Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. That woman has got some serious spunk!
And last, but not least, the older girls found solitude in the theater room where they plotted the following days Pirate Treasure Hunt. Join me again tomorrow for more reunion pics, YAY!
