Lately we've been thinking that we need to start doing more hiking now that the kids are old enough and we live in such beautiful, mountainous country. We have gone hiking a few times, but we'd like to be able to go more and have all the kids enjoy being in the mountains. So last weekend we ventured out for a little hike. We went to the Price Canyon Recreation and tried out the trail there. It leads to the top of the mountain and supposedly has an amazing view. We didn't quite make it all the way to the top though. We did hike at least a mile and half up the mountain at which point kids were whining and crying and we decided we'd better not keep going and make them all hate hiking! Best to break them in a little easy, I guess. Then we hiked down to the picnic area and enjoyed some yummy Subway sandwiches, which was probably everyone's favorite part of the outing. It was a beautiful day to be out enjoying nature....even if we didn't make it quite to the top. The joy is in the journey, not just reaching the destination......right?!!
