Constitution Bee

On Friday Drake and Garrett participate in the 5th grade Constitution Bee that is put on by the Lions Club. They both studied so incredibly hard and learned a lot about the constitution and it's amendments. They quizzed each other on the ride to school each morning and had me quiz them as well. They both had to make it into the top 6 in their class Constitution Bee in order to participate in their whole school Bee. Garrett took 2nd in his class bee and Drake took first in his. Garrett ended up getting 6th place in the school bee and was pretty sad because the judges ruled against him based on a single word (resident vs. citizen) It was a tough way to go out, especially after he had worked so hard. Drake and two other students ended up as the last three and they kept going on and on and on until all the available questions had been used up....twice! Finally, a tie was declared between the three of them because they obviously all knew their stuff. So we had three 1st place winners and they each got a prize of $40. (So I guess technically that means Garrett actually got 4th!) I was really impressed with all the students that participated. The questions were very difficult and they had obviously studied a lot! I was very proud of both my boys! Good job guys!
