Pinewood Derby 2016

Last week Drake and Garrett had their second Pinewood Derby with their Cub Scout Troop. We had actually made the cars clear back in March because we had time then (and knew we wouldn't during April with all the soccer and volleyball!) and we didn't know when the Derby would be. I'm really glad we made them early because they didn't give us much notice of when the actual race would be. Drake's is the red car and Garrett's is the purple one. Both boys and their cars did really well! Garrett took second place, though he was very close to getting first. He had to race the 1st place car over and over so they could figure out who's was fastest. Garrett would win one, then Sam and then they'd tie. They were pretty evenly matched! Drake was right in there too and ended up getting 3rd place. The picture that shows the three cars has Drake's in the first lane, Sam's in the second, and Garrett's in the fourth. They had a really fun time!
