Our first day at Brian Head the kids had full day snowboarding lessons. They started around 9:30 a.m. an didn't finish until 4:00 p.m. They improved so much it was crazy! In the beginning they were falling down on a slope so small it could hardly be called a slope. But by the end they made two runs from the top of the mountain! Lexi, Drake, and Garrett actually got a little confused their second time off the lift and ended up coming down the wrong part of the mountain. They ended up coming down the very steepest part! But they did great and made it down safely. Their instructor was very new so Tyson took it upon himself to help out, which was good because they wouldn't have learned nearly as much. He spent the whole day picking kids up (even the other kids in the group) and helping them navigate their turns. He hiked up and down the hill so many times he was making me tired! They started out on a tiny little slope, then moved to a larger slope that required them to ride the magic carpet to the top, then they graduated to the S-turn hill. Finally at the end they went up the lift once with their instructor (Tyson hiked to the top to help them out!) and then they went on the lift once by themselves. They were pretty worn out by the end. In fact, we went tubing the next day and they were all complaining that their legs were like jelly! They all had such a fun time and it was a Christmas present they won't soon forget!
