Second Christmas!

Tyson and I stayed up late on Christmas Eve getting everything ready. The stockings were stuffed as full as they could possibly be and overflowing. We filled them with snow gloves, earbuds, socks, candy, gum, Dr. Pepper and lots of other fun goodies.

The kids were up promptly at 7:30 (that's the earliest we'll let them do it!) They were all very happy with their gifts. We take turns opening one present at a time so it took us about an hour to finish up.

Tyson and Zac were both happy with their new shirts. Zac's is the authentic (as he reminded me about 15 times!) Zalatin Ibrahimovic soccer Jersey. Tyson got one that is based on his favorite book series, The Dark Tower, by Steven King.
My parents gave us a fun foosball table and a cute snowman building kit (top hat, carrot nose, buttons, etc.) I bought Tyson a new video game and his Dark Tower shirt. I bought myself some workout DVDs and hair stuff and said it was from him! I'm also getting myself a purse when I find one I want. Our main present was our new couches we bought a few months ago. We gave my dad some coloring books and nice colored pencils. He loves to draw and had told me he wanted to start doing more art with colors. It was kind of a silly present, but he sure had fun telling all my siblings that I'd bought him "adult" coloring books! We gave my mom a big waffle iron that does 4 at a time and an amazon gift card. My dad gave my mom a pretty mothers ring, which is no simple thing when you have 8 stones to put in it!

(Side Note: you may have noticed that my dad is in a wheelchair. About 2 months ago he broke his leg really bad slipping on my Grandma's front steps. It was a compound break, so they life flighted him to St. George and he had surgery. He has been in the wheelchair ever since and can only put a little pressure on his leg, but it is starting to heal.)

Lexi got her bedroom set that she opened at home, arrows, good running shoes, a $60 Maurices gift card, and some jewelry. Garrett gave her a cute volleyball necklace and a bag of Jolly Ranchers (the only thing she asked for on her Christmas list!)
Zac got the big soccer goal, Fifa 16 for Playstation 3 (because we have 4 controllers and he can play with friends,) Dominion (a pretty intense board game similar to Dungeons and Dragons,) his soccer jersey, sweats, and the Big Book of What by Time (they are great books!) Lexi gave him two books and a huge bag of swedish fish.
Garrett also got the soccer goal, a Neymar Jr. soccer Jersey, a board game, a Nerf gun, sweats, a National Geographic book, and Starwars Battlefields for Playstation 4 (sharing with Drake.) Drake gave him a new soccer ball and goalie gloves.
Drake got the soccer goal, a Nerf gun, a board game, a National Geographic book, a Messi soccer jersey, the Starwars Battlefields game, and sweats. Zac gave him Lego: The Hobbit for Playstation 4.

After all the presents were opened we had the traditional Christmas Brunch where the kids get to order from the menu and have as much as they want. It was a little exhausting for the adults but the kids loved it. Gerry's family came over for that too. The rest of the day we played with their toys and games and Tyson hooked up the Playstation so the kids could try out their new games. It was a good day. It wasn't an over the top Christmas but it was definitely very nice. We have done big Christmas's the past two years (Ipads, phones etc) so we decided to scale back this year. I thought it was perfect. They got enough to be happy, but not so much that they were overwhelmed. And as always they really enjoyed picking something out for one of their siblings. The best part for me was getting to spend it with my parents too!
