Yesterday we finished up another season of soccer. We didn't have as many wins this season as we would have liked, but it was fun anyway. We had several practices and one game canceled because of rain, but that is just Spring Soccer for you! We have now decided that we need to put Zac on the local traveling team so that he can continue to see improvement. The league we have been in for the last few years has really started to fizzle out for the kids his age because most of the better players have switched over to the traveling team. We were opposed to it at first, but after seeing how frustrating this season was for Zac, we have decided to just bite the bullet and see how it goes! So now instead of just Spring and Fall soccer he will be doing soccer for 9 months of the year, with the winter months being Futsal (indoor soccer.) He lives and breathes for soccer though so I don't think he will mind!
Drake and Garrett have really improved this season. You can tell they have been practicing with their big brother because they have learned a lot of fun footwork moves that they actually remember to use in the games. They both scored a lot of goals this season, in fact, Drake scored 4 goals in the last game alone! It was really fun to watch them play! I never thought I'd be a soccer mom but it looks like that is the direction in which we are headed! You pretty much have to follow whatever your kids are interested in and all these boys love soccer!
