A Hodge Pogde

As usual there have been lots of things going on that I want to mention on this blog but that I don't have enough pictures to do a full post. So here is a hodge podge of some of the things we've been up to lately. For President's Day the kids had an extra long weekend. They were out Friday and the following Monday. So we decided to make a little trip down to southern Utah to visit my family. We watched lots of Olympics with my mom and spent time chatting with my sister Heide and my brother Gerry and their kids. Gerry has a new baby boy, Hank, and we got to meet him. Tyson and I also took the kids to Bryce Canyon for the afternoon. It was really pretty, but also cold and extremely windy! I held on pretty tight to my little boys to make sure they didn't fall off the ledge! We didn't do any actual hiking, other than a mile on a paved path, because it was really muddy. We didn't take many pictures of our trip but here is a picture of us at Bryce.

Tyson and Lexi went on a daddy daughter date to see the high school play, The Music Man. They also got an ice cream before the show.

Zac had to decorate a cake for the Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts. He did a creepy, crawly, snake using two bundt cakes cut in half. I thought it turned out pretty darn cool. Not quite like the one in our cake book but close enough!

Drake came home from school one day feeling very happy because he won a book from the Book Fair. Out of all the first graders he was the one who guessed closest in the "how many M & M's in the jar" game. All the kids also got a book or two from the book fair because they had such great reports when we went to meet with their teachers.

Tyson got a new video game and is having fun showing the kids how to play it. I thought this picture of him and Garrett was super cute.

This has been a really weird winter with almost no snow. So the kids were pretty excited when we found a little snow at the top of the mountain last time we drove down to Loa. So of course that had to try to slide down without actually getting their bums wet!

And last, but not least, this picture of Zac dressed in Tyson's hat and coat just cracks me up! We were at the college basketball game. We went to almost all the games this season. It's always fun but was more fun early in the season when our team was winning every time. For some reason they started losing later in the season and that was not quite as fun to watch!
