Hoyt Reunion: Day 1

Last weekend was the 5th annual Hoyt Reunion. My brother James and his wife, Brittany, were in charge of it this year and they did a great job. We stayed at the SUU Mountain Retreat up on Cedar Mountain near Cedar City, UT. The lodge was not the fanciest place we've stayed but it was definitely big enough for our ever expanding family of over 40 people! It didn't feel crowded at all. All my siblings were there except for Dillon and his family and Heide's two boys weren't there either. The first day we got there about 2:00 and got settled in. Then we headed to a nearby kids pond for the kids to try their hand at fishing. None of my kids have ever caught a fish (except for the time Zac caught a rather sickly fish with his bare hands!) so we were hoping our luck would be with us. Zac was able to catch two fish but nobody else caught anything. Drake and Garrett were a little sad but Zac was incredibly happy! Lexi just wanted to pose with a fish but didn't really do much actual fishing.

The rest of the evening was spent catching up with everyone and exploring a little bit around the cabin. There were lots of little trails right there and the kids enjoyed being outdoors and just playing with their cousins. We also had a good BBQ Pork dinner.
