Well, we did it! Christmas was officially a success! The kids appeared to be very happy with their gifts and they seemed to have a lot of fun watching others open the gifts they had given them too. Lexi bought Zac the Stratego game he'd been wanting and he bought her Just Dance 3. Drake gave Garrett a Transformer and Garrett gave Drake two board games, Connect 4 and Sorry. I'm always impressed with how much thought the kids put into buying each other gifts. Lexi actually really got into the giving spirit this year and picked out a little something for everyone in the family....including the dog!
Drake got a new bike from Mom and Dad (no Santa in our family!) He'd been begging for one for months because he has out grown his other bike and the chain keeps falling off. He was pretty happy! He got a puzzle and model car kit from Grandpa Bill and Grandma Susan.
Garrett also got a new bike. They were both excited because these are 7 speed bikes. They also got books, piano books and a playstation game. He also got a model kit from the grandparents.
Lexi got a new Ipod, a book, and shoes from Mom and Dad. She got a gift card from Uncle Shay and craft things and clothes from Susan and Bill.
Zac got a new fancy remote control car and the Skylanders playstation game with action figures. Grandma and Grandpa gave him a dry erase board and a Star Wars model kit.
The kids spent the rest of the day riding buys, driving cars, putting together models, looking like models in their new clothes (Lexi) and playing Playstation games.
Uncle Shay gave all the kids this great racetrack and cars to go with it. They had lots of fun playing with it all Christmas day.
Tyson's parents gave him a weather station. He was pretty excited about it. Remember this is the guy who announces exactly how much rain we got every time it rains, likes to go look and see how much water is in the river, and keeps humidifiers going in the house all winter!
Drake saw these Candy Crush fruit snacks when we went shopping a few days before Christmas. He just had to get them for dad because he loves to play Candy Crush on his Ipad.
Bill and Susan gave me Pyrex mixing bowls (I've never had a real matching set of bowls!) and kitchen towels. Shay gave me a gift card to Bealls.
We went pretty simple this year and just gave gift cards. Maybe that was lame but my shopping experience was so much nicer this year than ever before (and I got fuel rewards from Smith's...Win-Win!)
We had a very nice Christmas and enjoyed spending it with Tyson's family. We are looking forward to having my parents come visit for New Years!
