Saturday was the final game for Fall Soccer Season. All 4 kids played this season (though Lexi was....ummm....reluctant! She seems to think that Volleyball is the only sport for her.) Their teams were not the best in the league, and at times that was very frustrating, but they still learned a lot and had fun. I even learned what off-sides means so I figure the season was worth it for me too! Lexi and Zac do have the same color of jersey but were not on the same team.
Drake and Garrett were on the U7 team. Somehow we actually managed to keep those white jerseys clean which must be some kind of miracle! They really seemed to improve this season. Garrett loves to play offensively and Drake is more of a defensive player. He did get more aggressive toward the end of the season and scored two goals in one game.
Zac played on the U10 team and his friend Sam's dad was the coach. Zac and Sam were initially the only players that were very aggressive but toward the end of the season some of the other players really improved too.
Lexi was on the U11 team which was a traveling team. She missed the games in Moab because it was the same day as Drake and Garrett's birthday and we didn't think we could fit it all in. She did travel to Ferron to play Emery County though. Her team played home games on the college field and it was pretty tiring to play a whole game on that huge field!
Looking forward to another great season next Spring (at least for the boys, Lexi has decided to opt out, but at least she tried it for one season.) Spring soccer is so windy and cold though. I wish all soccer seasons were as nice as Fall season! We are also excited that the college has decided to have men's and women's soccer teams starting next Fall. It will be fun to go to their games too!
