Photography Practice

I've decided we're probably not your typical family (who's to say what "typical" even means though!) We blood type our kids for fun, we don't have cable/satellite/dish, and we put chocolate chips in our cinnamon rolls. Sometimes we do things that I'm sure make the neighbors scratch their heads. Take for example the things Tyson has the kids do so that he can hone his photography skills. He has them jump off the porch, run around the lawn, and chase the dog....all while he snaps pictures of them. He recently purchased a new camera (yes, ANOTHER new camera! In his defense though, "this is the Unicorn of all cameras, the one he's wanted for his whole life, and he won't buy another one for at least 5 years!" and he sold 2 other cameras to pay for it.) Apparently, he required the kids to run in zig zags across the lawn so he could practice using the tracking feature. The kids, so far, are always willing to oblige. They had a ton of fun racing all over the yard.....which then turned into a game of tag. And, judging by the awesome pictures, Tyson perfected his focusing skills!

Drake was a little late to the party because he had to finish his dinner first.  I swear that kid is missing half the joys of life while sitting in front of a plate of food and taking the tiniest bites ever (but only when prompted!)  At least he's the most sensible of all the kids and wore his coat!

And it's all fun and games until someone gets pushed into the thorn bush (but at least we have it on camera!) Actually, Zac is the only one of our kids who will go back to playing after that like it was no big deal.  The others would all require hugs, kisses and bandaids!

I hope our kids are never "too old" to participate in Tyson's photography practice sessions.  Because when I'm 60 the neighbors aren't going to see me running zig-zags on the lawn and jumping off the porch so Tyson can practice!
