Blue & Gold Banquet

Wednesday night we went to Zac's Cub Scout Blue and Gold banquet. As always it was lots of fun for the whole family. They had a Super Hero theme so we had Hero sandwiches for dinner. With yummy cupcakes for dessert.

They did a fun relay where the boys had to dress in a suit coat and then race to the telephone booth and change into their super hero cape and race back (like Superman.)  I love this picture of Zac having so much fun.  Tyson has kind of become the unofficial photographer for our pack and took pictures of the whole evening.

The boys also had to do "feats of strength" to hone their super powers. Zac seems to be taking it pretty seriously!

The boys had all made a cape out of a mens t-shirt at the previous weeks den meeting. The Z makes for a pretty cool emblem....like Zorro!

The boys also did a pretty funny skit, Ugly, Ugly.  The funniest part was watching all these boys scream like girls and then run off and EVERY SINGLE TIME all the other little kids laughed like it was the funniest thing ever!

Lexi has a tendency to find herself a baby to take care of.  I'm sure Lily's parents didn't mind since they were in charge of this whole shin dig and were pretty busy. Lexi is so good with little kids....though I've noticed she seems to prefer little girls!

Drake and Garrett mostly just played on the slides in the back of the room.  Their friends Mason and Ivy (who are in their Kindergarten class) were there too.  Somehow Drake managed to get a nasty rug burn on the back of his left ear.  Who rug burns their ear?!  I guess they were probably playing a little rougher than I thought they were!

We all had a good evening and enjoyed socializing.  Zac also got a couple of belt loop awards.  We didn't quite get his Wolf finished in time though.  Since last week he has finished his Wolf, another Silver Arrow Point, and his Science and Bicycling belt loops.  We are going to go bowling tonight and he can earn another belt loop by doing that.  Zac is having fun being in Cub Scouts and the other boys can't wait until it's their turn!

Unofficial?! Oh, I guess we didn't tell you that he is officially on staff now. On a strictly voluntary basis, of course. Voluntary meaning unpaid ;) Seriously though, we appreciate the great photos, Tyson!
