Outlaws Tournament

The last weekend of July we had the opportunity to spend 4 days in Layton for a competition level soccer tournament for Drake and Garrett. It was their first time playing with the Comp team and they were a little nervous but they did fantastic. The first game they tied 2-2. The second day was a pretty brutal loss (9-0) playing against a crazy good team. Then they turned around and did almost the same thing to a different team on the third day with a 7-0 win. They took third place overall in the tournament, had lots of fun, got pretty gosh darn dirty (have you ever tried to get that much dirt out of a white uniform in a hotel laundry room using only a tiny bit of detergent?!) and made some great memories! Garrett made some amazing saves as goalie and Drake did a great job playing Center Defender. They both got a nice pin to put on their brand new Adidas soccer bags that we bought them at Ross just before the tournament. It was a really fun weekend! We ate lots of good food, did all our back to school shopping, got lots of Slurpees, and explored Antelope Island...where we saw precisely 1 antelope and nothing else!
