Murphy Reunion: Accomodations

A few days ago we got back from a really fun family reunion in Sundance, Utah. It was for Tyson's mom's side of the family (Tyson's Murphy aunts, uncles and cousins.) Susan, and her siblings worked incredibly hard putting it all together and I think they probably thought of everything! There were definitely enough snacks to feed an army! They had rented two really nice cabins. The main cabin, the Eagles Nest, was easily a multi-million dollar property and it was fun just to walk around and see how the rich and famous live! In fact, that cabin has been rented by famous actresses and actors when they come for the Sundance Film Festival that is held every year. I know they said Diane Keaton had stayed there recently.  The other cabin, The Hideout, was a little smaller and not as fancy but still really, really nice. We were given our own separate little bunkhouse next to it that had a king size bed (we were the only ones to get a king!) and a bathroom on the main level and then a loft upstairs with 4 twin sized beds. It was nice because we had our own space, but were able to go to the main house to hang out with the other cousins. And all of us had beds which can't be said for some of the others, especially the teenagers. I took these first three pictures from the owner's website. The first picture was Tyson and I's room. It was very comfortable and nice. Our cabin also had a huge lawn area, a hot tub, a big deck with a outside fireplace, another seating area around a fire pit, and a nice basketball court. We shared The Hideout cabin with Tyson's cousins Zack, Jessica, and Kim and their families.

The rest of these pictures are from The Eagle's Nest which is where Susan and all her siblings stayed. It was about three quarters of a mile away from The Hideout. We had a couple of meals at this cabin and some family history sharing time. We also played a new game called Crud using the pool table. The kids enjoyed playing Bingo here while some of us adults did things like rescue stunned hummingbirds who had smashed into the big window (Tyson) and did a book folding craft (Amber and Lexi.) The cabins were really comfortable and nice to stay in and aside from one near death experience involving a snake (fine...a teeny tiny water snake that thought it was a good idea to slither by my feet!) everything was great.
