Messes and Memories!

Yesterday afternoon we made some messes and memories decorating gingerbread houses...or rather, graham cracker houses! We actually hot-glued our houses so they would hold together. We figured that nobody really eats the houses later anyway and we wanted to save ourselves the hassle of trying to get the pieces to hold together using frosting. We also doubled all our walls to give the houses extra strength. I made oodles of Royal Icing that hardened pretty quickly and that made it easier to get things to stay put. The kids all came up with some really fun designs and ate lots of their building supplies as they went! Now the houses are displayed like a real Christmas village for all to see (and to eat off of!)
