Heaton Basketball Camp #2

So what do we do during the hours when we're not playing basketball?  Why, we craft of course!  Grandpa doesn't call Grandma, Grandma Creation, for nothing.....wait....maybe he calls her that because she had 14 kids?  No, I'm going with the fact that she likes to craft.  In fact, she likes it so much she has had her own craft store for as long as I can remember.  Lexi especially looks forward to crafting with her Great Grandma.  This year they made pens that look like a flower.
They also had lots of different colors of cords for making survival bracelets.  Zac made at least 20 of these in all different color combinations.
Having all those cords around led my mom to start playing games she remembered from when she was a kid. Then Uncle Jex got in on the action. He played a little trick on my mom. In this picture he had just said, "what do you have there, Debbie?", "I don't know." she replied. Jex's response...."Grandma Carolyn's bra!" Mom dropped that "bra" so fast! It was so funny!
One day the temperature really spiked so Grandma took all the kids to the ice cream shop for a treat to cool down.
This year the kids made a new, fabulous, discovery which they named Egypt.  The Virgin River runs through Orderville (my dad says it's called the Virgin River because "no one's ever touched her bottom!") Underneath one of the bridges there is a place where there's a pretty good sized sand bar and the river is not very deep.
The kids loved going to "Egypt" to play in the "Nile" and make sandcastles.  Zac especially loved it.  He spent 4 or 5 hours there every day!
Zac is really into any kind of creep, crawly bugs right now.  He was so excited to discover this little guy!  Oh, gross....that was enough to keep me from wanting to take a dip in the "Nile!"  He also caught a bunch of minnows.  Some of the other boys dared each other to eat minnows....live minnows!  (Zac swears he didn't do it)  Boys are just so gross!
We stayed in Gerry's camp trailer for the week.  It is quite comfy and we all loved staying there.  One night we popped popcorn and watched a movie.  We watched the old version of Parent Trap, the one I remember from when I was a kid.
One evening we rented out the community pool and had a lot of fun swimming.
These are the "triplets,"  Drake, Blake and Garrett.  These boys had such a fun time together, and no one even bloodied anybody else's nose this year.  I guess they really are growing up!
