Grandma Katie's Party

Last weekend we had the opportunity to go down to Loa for Tyson's Grandma Katie's 90th birthday party. It's hard to believe she is 90 years old! After all, she only recently gave up riding her bicycle to the post office. She still frequently uses her treadmill, she regularly sends out email forwards, and she's on facebook. She's a pretty hip grandma, to be sure!

Grandma Katie insisted that there be dancing at her birthday party.  Her grandson, Mark, waltzed with her.  I thought it was a very sweet moment.

Then of course there was a little "bunny hoppin'"...

And Tyson and I watched some Youtube clips and learned the Virginia Reel so we could teach the relatives.

We may have added a few New Age moves to it though.  This is our take on a Do-si-do!  Can I get a little "Woot! Woot!"

Lots of family members were able to come, including family from as far away as Pennsylvania and New Mexico.  We all enjoyed a lot of yummy food, good conversation, and Uncle Frank's folk music.

A very Happy Birthday to Grandma Katie.  May we all be as healthy and happy when we're 90 years old!
