Earlier this month we went to visit Tyson's parents. We spent two of the days hiking in Capital Reef National Park which is near their home. I was so impressed with all the kids! Their hiking stamina has increased dramatically since our last adventure. No one complained about their legs being tired even though we ended up covering approximately 8 miles over the course of the 2 days. We didn't even have to convince any little boys that they were in ninja training and ninjas have to hike A LOT! It probably helps that their dad has to take frequent breaks to take pictures so the rest of us get lots of rest! I definitely see more hiking trips in our near future. It was a little different hiking in winter. Instead of finding patches of shade to rest in we were looking for sunny spots. It was a little chilly but once we got moving it was great.
We started off the first day with a picnic and checking out the really tame deer in the park. We even had our dog with us and the deer just stayed around and didn't seem nervous at all! I think Gryffin's ego was a little bruised because they didn't seem to be taking him seriously!
After lunch we hiked up to Hickman's Bridge. Tyson took some really pretty pictures....of course!
On the second day we hiked up Cohab Canyon and went to three different overlooks. We found some neat little slot canyons that were fun to explore. The kids loved using grandma and grandpa's hiking sticks.
Maybe now that we've got a taste for hiking we'll actually get around to going to Little Wild Horse Canyon
down in Goblin Vally. We've only been planning that trip for the
past 2 years!

Dillon and I hiked Little Wild Horse Canyon by Goblin Valley while we were dating during spring break. It's where he fell in love with me.
