Christmas!

This year for Christmas we did something a little out of the ordinary and went to Tyson's parents house, in Loa, for Christmas. It was a little more challenging to figure out how to transport presents (We had Bill and Susan take presents with them after they visited a few weeks before Christmas and then we were packed to the roof on the way home!) but it made for a nice change. Susan really outdid herself with all the food she made! You would have thought we were feeding a small village and not just the 9 Chappell family members! On Christmas Eve we usually open Christmas pajamas but that's what Grandma Debbie bought them this year and we won't get them until they come visit in a few days, so instead we opened the pillows that Susan had made for us all.  They each had our names on them (Tyson's says his name on one side and "Doctor" on the other) and are made out of the softest "minky" material!  She must have spent hours and hours on them!

On Christmas morning the kids were so patient and waited for all the grownups to be ready to get up. We started our present opening at about 7:30.  Drake and Garrett went first and opened their main present first....Ipad minis! Yes, they are spoiled beyond belief! Tyson did a lot of the Christmas shopping this year so it was pretty impressive indeed! . They also got soccer balls and books.
Zac really wanted the Disney Infinity Marvel game for Playstation.  He also got four extra characters to go with it.  So now he has all the main Avenger characters. It's a game where you have a platform that you plug your action figures into to play the game.  All the different figures have different powers so the game never gets boring. He also got a pair of black and yellow rollerblades. I can't wait to hit the track to do some blading with him!  He really got into it last summer when we went to the skating rink.
Lexi has been begging for a phone and we finally gave in.  There are lots of times now when she does seem to need one.  I really hope I'm not regretting this choice in the days to come! But she was incredibly happy!  She also got a USU Eastern jacket and some clothes.

Grandpa Bill was very excited to give the boys each a compound bow.  They loved them and are so excited to target practice. I'm a little nervous (one of our Christmas traditions is to watch A Christmas Story so my first thought, of course, was "You'll shoot your eye out!") but hopefully they are old enough to use them responsibly!

The kids drew a name of a sibling to buy a present for this year.  As always, I was impressed by how thoughtful they were when picking out gifts.  Zac bought Lexi new tall black boots (and then told her he'd bought her grenades all during the weeks leading up to Christmas!) which is something she really wanted. Garrett bought Zac the game Battleship because they always love to play it when they visit Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Gerry's house. Drake bought Garrett a new watch which, when Garrett opened it on Christmas morning, he proclaimed it to be the "third thing on his list!" And Lexi bought Drake a Lego Chima alarm clock which was also on his list.

Uncle Shay bought the kids a racetrack like the one he gave them last year. So now they have lots of track and some cool new cars. One of the cars even looks like Uncle Shay's Porche.
We spent the rest of Christmas day playing with our fun toys, setting up Lexi's new phone, and playing Disney Infinity.  It was a fun filled day!  Merry Christmas everyone!
